Vasta Entrainment Sub-Liminal Session Series
These recorded sessions are designed and created by John Vasta himself to help you change your thinking, bring you back into balance and help you achieve your goals. Each session is scientifically mastered with Brain wave protocols designed to stimulate that part of the brain that is associated with the subject you want to improve. In most of the recordings there are positive affirmations embedded in the recording at low sub-liminal levels to enhance the results of the recordings and your overall well being.

Play them at very low whisper volume levels as instructed in the explanations, while working, walking, while on your computer, doing exercises, sleeping, in fact any time that you can listen to them while doing your daily tasks, as often as possible. Put them on loop mode to play over and over again, you can play many different sessions in sequence and work on several goals together. The more you listen to these recordings the more effective they will be.
In the product section, is list of the Vasta Entrainment library, you can purchase them individually or as subject sets at a reduced price and save.

What is Entrainment?

Entrainment is a principle of physics. It is defined as the synchronization of two or more rhythmic cycles. The principles of entrainment are universal, appearing in chemistry, neurology, biology, pharmacology, medicine, astronomy and more.

CASE IN POINT: While working on the design of the pendulum clock in 1656, Dutch scientist Christian Huygens found that if he placed two unsynchronized clocks side by side on a wall, they would slowly synchronize to each other. In fact, the synchronization was so precise not even mechanical intervention could calibrate them more accurately.

A clock is a simple example of a system responding to entrainment, but the same effect can been seen in more complex systems such as the brain.

A Short History of Brainwave Entrainment Research

Brainwave entrainment was first identified in 1934, although its effects had been noted as early as Ptolemy.

Not long after the discovery of the alpha brainwave by Hans Berger in 1929, researchers found that the strength of the wave could be "driven" beyond its natural frequency using flickering lights. This is called "photic driving," which is a way of describing brainwave entrainment using photic (light) stimulation. In 1942, Dempsey and Morison discovered that repetitive tactile stimulation could also produce entrainment and in 1959, Dr. Chatrian observed auditory entrainment in response to clicks at a frequency of 15 per second.

By the 1960s, entrainment started to be seen as a useful tool rather than merely a phenomenon of the brain. Anesthesiologist M.S. Sadove, MD, used photic stimulation to reduce the amount of anesthesia needed for surgery. Bernard Margolis published an article on brainwave entrainment used during dental procedures, noting less anesthesia required, less gagging and bleeding, and a general reduction in anxiety.

In a 1973 issue of Scientific American, Dr. Gerald Oster examined how combining 2 pure tones resulted in a rhythmic beat which he called binaural and monaural beats. In comparing binaural beats against monaural beats, Oster noted that monaural beats were shown to elicit extremely strong cortical responses, which is the electrical activity responsible for entrainment. Oster concluded that while binaural beats produced very little neural response (because the depth of a binaural beat is only 3db or 1/10 the volume of a whisper), they could be useful in diagnosing certain neurological disorders.

In the 1980s, studies continued with Dr. Norman Shealy, Dr. Glen Solomon and others researching entrainment for headache relief, serotonin and HGH release, as well as general relaxation. Michael Hutchison wrote his landmark book MegaBrain in 1981, outlining the many possible uses of entrainment from meditation to faster learning. In 1980, Tsuyoshi Inouye and associates at the Department of Neuropsychiatry at Osaka University Medical School in Japan found that photic stimulation produced "cerebral synchronization." Dr. Norman Shealy later confirmed the effect, finding that photic stimulation produced synchronization in more than 5,000 patients. In 1984, Dr. Brockopp analyzed audio-visual brain stimulation and in particular hemispheric synchronization during EEG monitoring. He said "by inducing hemispheric coherence the machine can contribute to improved intellectual functioning of the brain."

In 1981, Arturo Manns published a study showing the effectiveness of isochronic tones. This was later confirmed by others such as David Siever.

Studies continued into the 90's with researchers such as Dr. Russell, Dr. Carter and others who explored the vast potential of using entrainment with ADD and learning disorders. This decade also show research conducted on the value of brainwave entrainment as an aid with PMS, chronic fatigue, chronic pain, depression, hypertension and a number of other disorders. Steady research continues today with the work of Dr. Thomas Budzynski, David Siever, psychologist Michael Joyce and many others. The results of entrainment have been so promising that many modern clinical EEG units come with entrainment devices.

There are over 80 years of solid research behind brainwave entrainment. This leads many people to ask why this method hasn't become more well known, and there are numerous likely causes. One factor is our culture is that, in comparison to the medications produced by pharmaceutical giants, there is not a lot of money to be made in entrainment: it is inexpensive, easy to use at home and can be a viable solution to a huge variety of problems. Also, the idea that software or an inexpensive piece of hardware is able to directly affect the brain sounds preposterous at first, until you read the research and discover the science behind it. We have found that many people are skeptical until the day they actually use the software. Despite the combination of solid scientific, empirical and anecdotal evidence, it is easy to be skeptical of entrainment and brain training. Yet every day, more psychologists, mental health clinics, coaches, teachers and professionals are discovering entrainment, and finding it remarkably useful.

What does the term "mind programming" mean?

Mind programming incorporates a number of techniques, schools of thought, disciplines, theories, and practices. Its basic goal is to change one's reaction to internal and external stimuli, or to help the mind to more easily create a given state on its own (e.g.: happiness, confidence). It harnesses the brain's built-in programming mechanisms to help increase intelligence, end bad habits, stop negative mental patterns, and much more. It allows you to focus more of your subconscious resources on tasks you wish to accomplish.

At one point or another, everyone has reprogrammed their mind in some way. Do you start to feel better almost instantaneously when taking medicine, despite being aware of the time it takes for the medicine to take effect? Can you make yourself hungry by thinking of food? Have you ever experienced the placebo effect? Did you know that if you smile for approximately sixty seconds you will feel happier? All of these things are a direct result of the mind being conditioned, or programmed. The mind programming covered in this application, however, is much more broad and powerful than these examples.

Intentional mind programming has existed for thousands of years. Yogis and Buddhists have been using deep meditation for mind programming, among many other things. Hypnotists have been programming the minds of people for over a century. Psychotherapists have been helping people install new and healthier programs. In fact, until just recently, programming the mind in this deeper sense has been a lengthy process. It has required extreme practice, patience, and dedication. And while it still requires (and will always require) these three things, mind programming has advanced far past older methods; actually, the technology used in this application is able to do most of the work for you.

Thanks to recent advances, people are able to use carefully prepared audio stimulation to induce an extensive variety of mental states. And this includes receptive mental states that studies have shown to be conducive to mind programming.

Your subconscious is constantly working, constantly responding to situations, and constantly acting on your fears and desires (although not always in the way you would like). Mind programming is a powerful tool to help your subconscious work for you, not against you. If you want something of yourself, let your subconscious be your ally, and program it in!

Tips to get the most from your programming and meditation sessions;

  • Try not to meditate after drinking alcohol and especially coffee, caffeine in coffee is a powerful stimulant and will cause a busy mind.
  • Always choose a quiet place to meditate, indoors or outdoors is ok
  • Use a chair for the first 6 practice session, this way you will be able to meditate anywhere anytime without falling asleep.
  • Best time to meditate is anytime however, mornings are good as your body is fresh and it will give you a great kick start to your day. Evenings are also good to help unwind and relax at the end of your day, and it will prepare you for a restful sleep.

How to use these recording sessions

Hello, my name is John Vasta, I will be guiding you through the relaxing meditations and i want to give you some tips on how to get the most from your Vasta Meditation sessions.

Use a comfortable chair for the first few sessions, we recommend you don't lay down otherwise you will fall asleep (unless this is your intention and that's ok too, as your body, brain and mind will still benefit while listening) Experience your sessions anywhere that is peaceful quiet and relaxing is ideal, indoors or out and at a low comfortable volume.

Let me briefly explain some of what to expect in your sessions.

If you are new to meditation or an experienced meditator, you will be able to follow this easily and enter a deep Alpha meditative state. If you find yourself drifting off to a sleepy slumber that’s ok, it means your body is tired and needs to rest and recharge which you will receive during this session, or you have entered a very deep meditative state which again may induce a sleepy slumber, this is ok, often happens first time, there is nothing you are doing wrong and this doesn't happen to everyone, so just go with it.

As im speaking and guiding you, I will very quietly be playing a background sound designed to help you become relaxed. Most of the meditations take less than 30 mins and starts with several short mental exercises to take you to a deep meditative state which I will refer to as your inner levels. This unique method uses science based techniques to help anyone achieve a deep meditative Alpha state.

After the mental exercises I will ask you to bring to mind a relaxed a passive scene from nature, so choose a place you remember in your life where you felt totally relaxed and at peace, it may have been by a waterfall, a forest, in the mountains, a beach anywhere you felt at peace and at one with life, if you cant think of one make it up. Once there I will give you some time to yourself where I will stop speaking and leave you to connect with nature. I will share some affirmations and bring you back to open your eyes at the end.

The experience is different for everyone but generally you will feel a deep sense of calm, peace and relaxation. Just follow my voice and directions, I will let you know when its time to come out of your levels and open your eyes.

There is so much more to the Vasta "East meets West" method which will help you achieve amazing results in all areas of your life, to learn more about our unique Meditation classes go to our library,… Enjoy!
